12-23-24   THOUGHTS

OUR NEXT POST WILL BE ON FRIDAY 12-27-24

When the Church comes together as the BODY of Christ, who do you know?  Do you greet the same folks each Sunday, or do you branch out and try to know all?  Do you greet the new person?  Do you know the quiet and the shy?  Maybe you are the quiet and the shy? We are known as a hugging group, do we teach others to hug?  John 13:35   "By this all men will know that you are  My disciples, if you have love for one another."  Matt 10:8b   “Freely you received, freely give.” [The MB has “You have been treated generously, so live generously.”]   We must live the “Royal Law” as in verse 8 below!   May we delight to live generously!

Jas 2:1-10    My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism.  2  For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and dressed in fine clothes, and there also comes in a poor man in dirty clothes, 3  and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the fine clothes, and say, "You sit here in a good place," and you say to the poor man, "You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool," 4  have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives?  5  Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? 6  But you have dishonored the poor man. Is it not the rich who oppress you and personally drag you into court? 7  Do they not blaspheme the fair name by which you have been called? 8   If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the Scripture, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF," you are doing well. 9  But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors. 10  For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.

My Prayer:
Lord God, teach our minds to love indiscriminately and fully.  As You are Love,  may Your love flow freely from us.  Bless us to see the joy in loving and giving.  Help us as we bless the souls and bodies of those around us.  May You be seen, O Father, in Christ Jesus as disciples are made.  Revive and advance the Body of Christ in Rescue.  A harvest and a feast awaits, help us to bid the coming!  Remind us in this season how blessed we are.  May grace and compassion be ours continually.   We love You Our God.   In the name of our Savior,    Amen.
